COVID-19 Letter from Columbia River Electric Maintenance
APR. 3, 2020
The last several weeks have been full of challenges to our community due to the impacts COVID-19. CREM is devoted to the health and safety of our employees and their families. We have taken steps to ensure that all employees who need to stay home due to high risk conditions for themselves or their family members are given that option and supported in taking it, including work from home opportunities when possible. Our policies exceed all requirements and guidance regarding social distancing and sanitation. We continue to evaluate and adapt our policies as the situation changes to protect our employees.
At the same time, the work CREM does is essential to both our local community and in some cases our international community. CREM’s work includes support, construction, maintenance of electrical systems for:
• Paper Manufacturers
• Data Centers
• Food Processors
• Irrigations Systems
• Energy, Gas & Power
• Residential Customers
CREM and our employees are an important part of making sure that farmers have irrigation water to grow food for people all over the world, that technology partners have the resources to keep us all connected using the technology that is supporting social distancing efforts, that people isolating in their homes have someone to call if their lights quit working, and many other contributions. We take these responsibilities seriously and the steps we are taking to keep our workforce healthy is additionally an effort to ensure we remain an available resource for the people & companies who need us.
We also see our role as a contributor to an economy that is taking some hits. We feel strongly that our company and our workers can be a positive economic impact to our local economy and our supply chain economy which extends all over the globe. This is done in small ways of choosing to support small, local businesses with our purchasing choices when possible. Also, on a larger scale by the materials purchased & sourced from around the world for our ongoing work. Additionally, our employees are contributing to the economy and can feel safe in their continued ability to make purchases due to their reliable employment.
Our company is strong, we are committed to having a positive impact on our community and our world during this challenging time. We are taking extreme steps to make sure our workforce can stay the course and work safely to provide for our customers. We understand that not everyone has the ability to assist with our essential work due to health limitations but we invite those who can to help us in maintaining our ability to support our customers.
